"Animation and Drawing Excellence" is an invaluable training DVD for anyone interested in the field of Animation.  I have been working in animation for over 20 years now, and have been waiting just as long for someone to produce a really good training seminar for those interested in self-learning.  In today's world, where most people can't afford a four year art school, online schools and training DVDs are an invaluable tool.  Scott Petersen has years of experience and a passion for teaching that makes him the perfect instructor.  Whether you are interested in pursuing traditional 2D animation or even CG, learning the basics that have been passed down by the greats is something anyone with a passion for animation must learn and will definitely benefit from.  I highly recommend "Animation and Drawing Excellence to everyone who either wants to break into the field of animation, or even those of us who have been at it for many years and need a refresher."
Elliot M. Bour
Director, Disney Toon Studios

Stephen Anderson, director of "Meet the Robinsons" and "Winnie the Pooh" (2011), said this about Scott's training DVDs... "Hand drawn animation may look easy from the outside but it's filled with complex principles that initially can seem intimidating.  But after watching "Animation & Drawing Excellence," you'll see that there's nothing to fear.  Scott breaks down the fundamentals with simple language and clear examples.  He then boosts the viewers' confidence with his positive nature and true passion for the art and craft of animation.  I highly recommend "Animation & Drawing Excellence!"

Some more endorsements:

Disney's supervising animator, T Dan Hofstedt - "I enjoyed watching Scott's Animation & Drawing Excellence DVD very much.  It was refreshing to see the hand-drawn craftmanship of classical 2D animation demonstrated and explained in a clear and professional manner.  Scott is doing a terrific job of keeping the 2D techniques alive and well into the next generation.  His talent for drawing and animating are certainly world class, but add to that his ability to teach and communicate and you have an awesome winning combination."
Here is what Disney's supervising animator, Randy Haycock has to say about Scott's training series...  "Animation & Drawing Excellence, is a perfect starting point for anyone who wants to learn the art and craft of animation.  Scott not only is a talented animator, but he has the added gift of being able to communicate ideas and principles clearly and succinctly.  The curriculum presented in these videos will help any aspiring animator learn the important principles and techniques that are necessary to become a successful animator"

"Animation & Drawing Excellence is an excellent instructional DVD for the student wanting to learn the initial basics of animation.  Included in these well produced lessons are simple, well explained concepts and exercises important toward building a solid foundation and moving forward toward becoming an animator."
From - David Block, (Director and Animator, Walt Disney Studios and Warner Brothers Animation.)

" Scott's Animation Training series is a very effective way of learning animation.  Once I started to watch it I was surprised at how good it was, and I couldn't stop watching until it was over. If I was a beginning animation student I would get these and learn from them as much as I could."  - Floyd Norman, Disney Legend and Story artist.

Here are other professionals talking about working with Scott...
“Scott is a fantastic animator, and a great guy to work with.  His drawing is always appealing and his acting adventurous and imaginative.  I’ve been impressed by the way he approaches his scenes- always putting himself in his characters shoes, seeing the moment from their point of view, and finding a way to connect with their common humanity.  Very method-very cool.” Stephan Franck, Head of Animation, Sony Feature Animation.
“I have had the privilege of working with some of the world’s greatest living animators, and Scott Petersen is among them.  His enthusiasm for the craft is infectious.  His skill and professionalism is second to none.  He has an integrity that is hard to come by.”  I whole-heartedly recommend Scott.  From, Sean Sullivan, Story board artist, illustrator and background painter, Walt Disney Feature Animation.
“Scott is a fantastic professional used to deadlines and pressure.  He is always willing to walk the extra mile in order to bring benefit to the production.  He has deep knowledge of the field of animation and a lot of experience.  He is also a very creative and talented artist and a good friend.  I highly recommend his work and professionalism.”  From Carlos Kuri, Owner of White Knight Creative Productions.
“Scott Petersen is a very diligent and talented animator who know how to follow directions. When I directed Universal’s “Adventures of Brer Rabbit”, Scott helped create and develop animated walks, hops, etc.  The producer and I were extremely pleased with Scott’s work;  I heartily recommend Scott.” From, Byron Vaughn , Director, Universal Pictures.
“If everyone in the world were as honest, creative and trustworthy as Scott, there would be no war and we would all have more free time because work would always get done on time.” From, Seth Kearsley, Director, Columbia/Tri-star feature animation.
“Scott was hired as my Overseas Animation Supervisor and lived in Manilla during the production of Kronk’s New Groove and Disney’s Enchanted Tales.  He acclimated into his role at Toon City Studios very quickly and did an excellent job of overseeing the work produced there.  Scott is a very hard and diligent worker who has excellent people management skills and was a wonderful addition to the overall production crew.  After the completion of the production, Scott remained in the Philippines for several years learning all aspects of production and has brought that knowledge back to the United States to open his own studio.”  From,David Block, Supervising Director, Walt Disney Toon Studios.
“I have worked with Scott in the past at Disney and found his animation to be fun and inspiring. As well he was easy to work with in the capacity as one of his clean up assistants.  Recently I had the pleasure of working for Scott as his main L.A. clean up assistant on a feature film and a short.  Scott was great at communicating what he needed, as well as the work was awesome to work on.  He trusted me to make important decisions with the scenes and who I brought on to help us.  I can’t wait until I have the chance to work with Scott again and I will recommend him and his work to anyone looking for a great person, animator and or animation studio for your next project.”  From, Stephanie Olivieri, Clean up key.
